Basic Layer Example
This
example is a car interior on a bright day. This
particular vehicle has all but three windows heavily
tinted, which makes our job slightly easier but
generally speaking cars, boats, etc are difficult in
bright light because they are surrounded by windows.
Any property with windows will have this problem at some
point of the day.
Note: - These images are low
resolution. Original images are shot at 8 or 10
mega-pixels.
In
order to capture the dark interior, we use a slow
shutter but this also captures the intense light through
the un-tinted windows.
Now we speed up the
shutter to capture the outside view but the car interior
is now far too dark.
With
the aid of pixel editing software we lay one picture over the
other and erase parts of the top layer to reveal the
detail we want to show through. In this
case, a view from the three front windows.
There
are of course, many thousands of other enhancements at
our disposal but this is a just simple demonstration of
why one photograph can require more than one shot and or
exposure.
